Our yoga school was born from the desire to help, inspire and educate those who have been called to this amazing and blissful career as a yoga teacher. Our school is here for those who wish to shift their yoga practice to another level and cultivate the skills and qualities that a true yoga instructor should have in order to help others in a professional way.

Our History

Bhakti Yoga School was originally The Inbound School of Yoga. The inspiration came from Yoga Inbound, founded by Atulananda Acharya Maharaj in India, as an Asana Yoga branch of the Vrinda Mission. In 2000, Chaitanya began studying Asthanga Yoga in Miami Beach with Reed Taylor – his friend and first Asthanga Yoga teacher. In 2004, Reed passed the ownership of the Its Yoga studio to Chaitanya and it grew to become Yoga Inbound Miami. After years of teaching in Miami, Chaitanya moved to Cusco, Peru were he started Yoga Inbound Cusco with Saranagati Devi Dasi, which years later has many centers and teachers around the world as part of the Bhakti Yoga School. Since 2004, Chaitanya, along with other friends and teachers, have conducted more than 70 Yoga Teacher Trainings and certified more than 1,000 yoga students from all over the word. In 2019 Chaitanya, was inspired to change the name of the school, to focus more on the Bhakti Yoga aspect, of love and devotion!

Our Philosophy

Our Yoga practice is based on the idea that we are eternal spiritual souls within this physical/emotional body. The body serves as an instrument through which the eternal being can show his/her free will within this material universe. This body is considered a divine gift with which we have the opportunity to become enlightened and awaken our internal divinity, our true Self, and to serve the whole, to cooperate with universal order, to make our life and that of others more beautiful and satisfactory. This is why we do not deny nor reject this body, rather we honor it as a temple where the soul and the Supersoul reside. We learn to find a balance in our Energies, as we practice to create more internal and external harmony.

Chaitanya Nitai Das

Chaitanya is the International Director of the Bhakti Yoga School, with ashrams in Peru and Colombia, and over 35 years of dedicated experience in yoga and spiritual practice.

Originally from Peru, he began his path at a young age and has spent decades living, studying, and teaching in ashrams across South America, the United States, and India. His teaching is rooted in traditional yoga philosophy, daily practice, and lived experience.

He was among the first South Americans to be certified in Vedic astrology (Jyotish) in India, and integrates this knowledge into his work in a practical and accessible way.

Chaitanya has studied with respected teachers such as Pattabhi Jois and John Friend, while also being deeply shaped by traditional ashram life and his initiation into the Vedic lineage through his teacher, S. Atulananda Acharya.

Over the years, he has guided thousands of students and trained teachers from around the world. Many of his students continue to share yoga in their own communities, creating a strong and connected international network.

His approach is simple, grounded, and consistent—offering yoga as a path that can be lived and integrated into daily life, with discipline, devotion, and clarity.
